If you searched for make rugs Rug Making, the core loop is simple: roll free random Yarn, assign it to a design at the Tufting Frame, fill every region, shave the finished surface, and then decide whether to add an outer border. The important decision is not just which picture looks best; it is whether each region is complete and whether the extra border value is worth the added production time.
Make, finish, and sell a rug
This moment supports the full rug-making loop: collecting Yarn, choosing a design, filling it, shaving the surface, deciding on an optional border, and selling the finished rug.
Start with Yarn and a design
Go to the Yarn Dispenser and hold Roll Yarn. When the material appears, use Collect Yarn at the Collection Tray. Yarn is random, and its type, color, and rarity affect the value of the completed rug, so collect enough material before opening a design.
At the Tufting Frame, choose Make a Rug, then open Choose a Design. Simple Mat is the safest first choice: it is available at Level 0 and uses one material area with one Yarn. Once the basic controls make sense, you can move to multi-region patterns.
The evidence does not provide a complete unlock table for every design. The known early example is Inset Heart, which costs 40 Cash to unlock and needs separate Yarn assignments for its Border and Heart regions. Other designs are unlocked through design progress, but their full level gates and material combinations should be read from the current design menu rather than inferred from their preview colors.
Rug designs and region checks
| Design | What to check | Known access |
|---|---|---|
| Simple Mat | One material area | Available at Level 0 |
| Inset Heart | Border and Heart | 40 Cash unlock |
| Cloud Bands | Cloud outline and horizontal bands | Design progress |
| Arched Stripes | Arched outline and curved bands | Design progress |
| Paw Print | Outline, Main pad, and Toe 1–4 | Design progress |
| Spotted Mushroom | Cap, stem, and spot regions | Design progress |
| Moon and Stars | Sky, Crescent, Top star, Side star, and Low star | Design progress |
Assign every required Yarn
In Choose Your Yarn, select a design region and assign one of the collected Yarn options. Repeat this for every required region before continuing. Inventory labels such as 1x and 2x show how many pieces you own; they are not a universal statement of how many Yarn portions a pattern requires. If you need more stock, the Yarn and Rarity guide covers rolling and collecting additional materials.
Inset Heart is the clearest example of why this matters. Its pattern Border is a fill area, not the optional outside edging added at the end. Give the Border and Heart their own assignments, then switch between them at the bottom of the tufting interface.
Tuft each region to 100%
Hold and drag the tufting tool over the marked fabric. For a multi-color design, select the assigned Yarn for the region you are working on before filling it. Continue until every independent area reaches 100%, then select Finish. A fully tufted rug is still labeled Unshaven, so finishing this step does not make it ready for the showroom.
If the rug appears almost complete but the control will not finish, stop watching only the large overall percentage. Inspect the region labels one by one:
- On Paw Print, the
Main padcan be complete whileToe 1–4still contain gaps. - On Spotted Mushroom, the cap can be filled while the stem or individual spots remain unfinished.
- On Moon and Stars, the sky can dominate the progress display while the crescent or one of the three stars is still at 0%.
The overall percentage is not a simple average of all region percentages. Switch to the Yarn assigned to the unfinished region and cover its small bare patches and edges before trying Finish again.
Shave the Unshaven rug
Carry the Unshaven rug to the Shaving Station and select Shave a Rug. Move the clipper across the long pile, including the upper and lower portions, outside edges, and small separated areas. Watch the clipped meter and keep going until it reads 100% clipped. Once it is ready, follow the Customers & Sales guide to list the finished rug and judge offers.
Around 90% may still be enough for a rug to sell, but the lower finish can reduce its selling value. Treat 100% as the normal target when you are optimizing cash, and only accept a partial shave when faster throughput is more important than the value of that individual rug.
Add a border or finish faster
After shaving, the Add a Border? prompt controls an optional outer decoration. To use it, choose a color and hold-drag along the rug's outside edge, then select Finish. A completed border can provide up to about 5% extra value, but that is a maximum reported increase rather than a guaranteed fixed bonus.
Choose None when you want to move quickly to the next rug. This decision affects the outer decoration only. It does not remove Inset Heart's required pattern Border, which was filled earlier at the Tufting Frame.
Sell the finished rug or use an order
For a normal sale, carry the completed rug through the workshop doorway into the Showroom. Approach an empty display rack and click its yellow + while holding the rug. Confirm that it hangs on the rack and leaves your hand and hotbar; that means it is listed for customers. The customer sale happens afterward, when a customer buys the displayed rug.
For an Online Order, follow the order's specified design and Yarn requirements first. After the rug is finished, continue with the order's packing and Parcel Cabinet delivery flow. Do not treat the optional showroom border as an order requirement unless the current order explicitly asks for it.
Improve value without guessing
Higher-rarity Yarn generally helps a rug's value, but the material roll is random. A Luck upgrade can improve the chance of better materials; it cannot guarantee a particular Yarn. Likewise, the available evidence does not provide a complete fixed value table for every Yarn or every design, so do not calculate a guaranteed cash price from a preview color, a single sale, or a design's silhouette.
Repeatedly completing rugs advances design progress and the mastery of the design you use. Repeating one pattern raises that pattern's mastery, but it does not necessarily replace the separate requirements for unlocking other designs. If you are pursuing a specific mastery tier, use the current mastery panel and the design's remaining-rugs calculation rather than assuming all designs share the same target.

- Rugs remaining

Rugs remaining = max(0, displayed target − current completed count).
Assumptions and sources
Assumptions
- Both counts refer to the same design and the same mastery target.
- Each completed rug of that design advances its completion count by one.
- The displayed target is the labeled next-tier counter, not a separate stamps total.
